SACAA online exam issues
Hasn't the SACAA clued in yet that aviation is a global business?
There are candidates outside of South Africa who would like to take the SACAA's written/computer examinations and yet the website does not mention any examination centres outside of SA. The FAA has computer examination centres in different continents. The SACAA should do the same.
As a start the SACAA should also use the same LaserGrade and CATS Computer Testing Designees that the FAA uses. Secondly, in this era of the Internet and computers all over the place, there is no reason why a candidate should also not be able to do the SACAA examinations on a computer at any South African embassy, consulate or trade mission. Just go in, select the examination, pay the fee, attempt it and get the result right there and then. (Embassies, consulates and trade missions exist for more than to provide a life of leisure on the diplomatic cocktail party circuit to a class of leeches and maggots!)
There should be no need for set examination dates. The examinations should be available whenever the computer testing centres are open during normal business hours.
All of the SACAA written/computer examinations should be available on-line, not just the PPL and FI as shown on the website.
Why is the above not in place already? Does it too much resemble "customer service" and the application of common sense and intelligence? When does the SACAA intend to have it all in place?
